We would like to share with you this amazing resource sent to us from Kids Out Charity.

With all UK children in unprecedented times having to learn from home, our FREE resource World Stories will provide enrichment to their education and allow parents and teachers to easily access literacy resources at home.

Please do share this with as many staff, parents, children and other agencies as possible so that they can benefit from our free resource.

World Stories is a free online interactive resource which hosts a library of over 150 children’s stories. All of the stories feature in English as well as over 30 additional languages, such as Gujarati, Hindi and Polish. It is completely free to access to everyone, at home and in the classroom, and you can read stories on desktops, tablets and mobiles. This is particularly targeted at children whose second language is English as it allows them to read stories in their own language, improving their literacy skills, as well as read stories in English, improving their language skills. However, its use is not limited to only EAL children. Many of the stories are folktales from around the world, encouraging all children to learn about cultural diversity and other’s experiences.

KidsOut would be more than happy to provide further information about World Stories and how to fully engage with the website. If you would like any more information, then please do not hesitate to contact KidsOut atabby.wagge@kidsout.org.uk.
